Sertraline

Hi. I have in the last few days been prescribed a low dose of Sertraline by my GP for anxiety.

Just wondering if anyone has taken this medication & how they felt on them? I have started feeling very nauseous & my stomach is more bloated & uncomfortable than usual. I would welcome your experiences. TIA.

hi I took Sertraline for over a year. It does take a while to get used to it as mentioned above. I hope that you find you feel an improvement soon.

If it is solely to deal with anxiety then I might have expected you to be prescribed Propranolol. If it for depression then look up Saffron which has similar benefits to an SSRI but without the side effects

it too a few weeks for the nausea to subside for me too. Then I felt a bit spaced out but that also passed and I now feel more normal and no anxiety

I believe sertraline has helped me and ibs, also helps with giving me back my life, i can do things now, take my kids to school without worrying of needing the bathroom.

I am on 150mg though overall I would recommend, taking these.

I was prescribed Sertraline for the anxiety that my ibs-d gives me. I only took one tablet as within 2 hours I was breaking the 4 minute mile to get to the bathroom. This went on all evening and through the night. Needles to say I couldn’t continue with it.

Thanks for your reply. I suppose all meds affect people differently. I will see what happens.

Best wishes

Try ginger (inc ginger biscuits) and pepperment teas to help with nausea, stay away from coffee and alcohol
