Sertraline and periods

I have suffered on and off for years with ibs, mainly d but it got to the point earlier this year where it was just constant & the stomach pain is just...ouch! I was having to take 2+ imodium everyday just to get to work, nearly an hour bus ride which was never fun & nearly every day I'd have to get off to find a toilet 10mins into the journey. I am signed off work at the moment and I am due a colonoscopy next week to hopefully get an answer to my problems 🤞 I've also been having issues with my period, mid cycle bleeding and now I'm 17 days late for my regular period, there is no possibility of pregnancy but I've read that sertraline, which I have for my anxiety, can interfere with menstrual cycle, has anyone else had this issue?

I understand from a colleague that a side affect of Seltraline can be upset stomachs/pain.

That said get the Colonoscopy done and if all clear then I suggest that the next stop may be a Gynaecologist as you should not really have mid cycle bleeding/ lateness. If your periods are heavy then Endo may be a cause. Would you be old enough to be menopausal?

I'll have to keep the sertraline for a while longer to see if it's working for me, I still get quite anxious at times which doesn't help with the situation

Sertraline can cause diarrhea, read on the leaflet about side effects. I was on it for a while but my constant need for the toilet got worse and it made me feel even more miserable and depressed.

I’ve been on Setraline for 4 weeks now. In my second week I thought I was pregnant as my period was late and I had sickness/ sickness feeling all day and my boobs and tummy were aching. That’s settled down now except from my tummy- I’m constipated quite a lot and have really bad acid reflux and then other days I’m ok. I’m on 50g but I think they need to up mines to 100g.
