Blood with stool

I just had some blood with my BM. Just some drops in the bowl, nothing on the paper. I'm wondering if this could be from a hemorrhoid (not that I knew I had any). I do suffer from constipation and was straining somewhat. Am a bit worried. Thanks!

it is my understanding that what you describe is usually from haemorrhoids or a little tear from straining. . Of course it would be wise to speak to your GP, who can arrange for you to send a stool sample off for testing.

Best wishes.

Thank you for replying. That's reassuring. It probably is close in timing for my next FIT test so I'll look into that

My dad had similar recently after straining and was concerned. It coincided with a FIT test soon after which was negative.

So probably ok but a test helpful.

Thanks for your response. I'll check into a FIT test - I think I'm due soon, anyway.
