Shooting pain if left upper chest

Hi,

I’m trying undergoing investigations for possible IBS which they think has been brought on by stress and anxiety.

My main symptoms are stomach gurgling and constipation.

I also have shooting pains and aching in the upper left part of my chest which seems to be worst at night. Anyone else have this? I did have an ECG a few weeks ago and this was okay.

My consultant thinks it could be my bowel is twinging which is causing it.

Any recommendations for managing this?

Many thanks

Me too! I have had multiple periods of chest tightening lately after some new symptoms in June. They seem to come and go, but when they're here they last the night. It's so painful that it takes my breath away sometimes. I told my GP but he doesn't seem concerned. My fiance is really concerned as it's happening quite a lot at the moment.

I don't know what it is, but perhaps it's similar. I thought maybe the two were unrelated but maybe the bowels are affecting it.

Sorry that you've been experiencing this too. I'm glad the ECG was ok though!
