Hi, I've had IBS on and off. Used to have a crap diet to be honest, of takeaways. Recently got a flare up. I can't eat much per day and get cramps, bloating and then need to go. Usually brown poo, sometimes but when I wipe it's mainly yellow.
Used to have mushy stools - now mainly watery.
The anxiety is awful. The yellow mucus keeps coming now and it smells awful.
Does this sound familiar to anyone? And what were you diagnosed with?

have you spoken to your doctor? Are you under a gastro if not you need to request that your gp refers you to a gastro to enable further testing. Try not to panic it’s nothing sinister but it needs looking at by a gastro who will be able to advise and hopefully provide treatment after further testing. Mucus is normal in lots of cases just a lot of people don’t notice it so try to keep calM and don’t turn to doctor Google wait till you have seen a gastro. Take care
Always best to go back to your GP if you have had a change in symptoms. Yellow stool can be related to not digesting fats properly. You'll need to speak to your GP about it. If they're still saying its to do with IBS and not Bile Acid Malabsorption, fat malabsorption or anything else, I have some general advice about what to try for IBS to help you manage it in a previous post of mine:
