I’ve had IBS for too many years to remember! I have always used Loperamide but recently could not purchase any. I have just found IBS Capsules at Superdrug which sounded ideal. However, I took the prescribed two capsules and very soon suffered from acute diarrhoea.

I just wondered if anyone else has had this as I am very scared to try more of them,

I take just 1 every night and love them! I also use Windeze as an alternative at night and Windsettlers during the day. I don't live in the UK but I collect these pills on every trip.

Hi, I've also suffered with IBS for many years, it's stress -related. I but my Loperamides online, I pay around £4 for 30 inc delivery from Amazon. They're great, I can't be without them, I usually only need two in the morning when I'm affected. I never buy anything else than these. Good luck!

I’ve not heard of these but I’m just wondering if they gave you diarrhoea maybe they are mainly for ibs C I have ibs D so sounds like they would not suit me.

It's a bit strange not to be able to purchase loperamide! (?)

I was in my tiny village shop the other day, and in a Tesco supermarket a week or so ago, and clearly saw Imodium for sale in both. Sure, the Imodium as it's a brand name, is more expensive than generic loperamide, but it contains exactly the same thing.

It could be a different ingredient to your usual lopermide tablets. Or maybe they where for IBS - C rather than D

Hi, I usually buy mine direct from the chemist, but they don't always have the generic ones in stock, only Immodium. Have you tried Savers chemist on the high street, they have loads. Two types, one is called Loritax 2mg capsules (loperamide hydrochloride) and the other are sold as "Acute Diarrhoea Relief Capsules", but are the same 2mg loperamide hydrochloride, so not sure what the difference between them is. They are very cheap and both seem to work.
