I find buscopan works when I’m having a flare up. I too get the constant need to poop accompanied chronic wind.( not the best combo) I do relate with being scared to go far!
I have diverticular disease. I’ve also been told I have IBS.
Buscopan is my go too so give it a try. It evedently slows the digestion happening in the bowel.

Hi I have ibs c with odd loose bowel. I take buscopan on bad days. I too find it helpful. I'm uk sadly it can be expensive if I'm having a run of flare ups. Pleased you found what helps you.
I haven’t been officially diagnosed with IBS but do have severe grade 2 Diverticulitis . I suffer with constipation but when I take Laxido I suffer very badly with cramps and three or four toilet visits each morning for several days. I am wondering if anyone else suffers this with Laxido. I only pass small diarrhoea type motions each time. My answer at the moment is to fast for a day, only drinking water which sometimes does the trick. My GP prescribed Buscopan which helps a bit but I find it makes passing water very difficult. Perhaps your GP would give you a repeat prescription for Buscopan. I am elderly so get free prescriptions.
Hi, I also suffer from constipation and have found the exact same thing with laxido. While it did soften my stool I still could not empty my bowels fully so would have to go to the toilet many times throughout the day (often urgently!). Unfortunately I haven't found a laxative that works properly yet, I've tried fybogel, lactulose and dulcolax. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Hi, Emeraldtiger1, thanks for your reply. I know exactly what you mean. I used to take Fibogel many years ago when I was first diagnosed with Diverticulosis but eventually it was having a constipating effect so stopped. I have just this week tried Senokot ( one before bed) and it has worked, if a little difficult. It didn’t cause the cramps or having to go many times a day, so I’m going to carry on with it when needed. I don’t think you’re supposed to take it long term. You could try this maybe, if you haven’t already. Kind regards
