this is a very small and weird question but does anyone else’s IBS seem to be a little worse in hotter days during summer and spring?

IBS Question
Hi yes for me sometimes heat affects me. Coupled with needing to drink more ot flushes my system out. I am sure many others also suffer in this way. sadly i have no solution other than taking loperamide if needed.
Not a small or weird question. It is perfectly valid. Yes, in really hot weather mine can get worse. I have to really watch what I eat and stick to plain foods.
There has been some research looking into people with sensitive Vagus nerves having problems with hot weather and there are connections with IBS and the Vagus nerve so maybe there's a link I certainly know that I don't deal well with hot weather!
Totally agree with others replies here - I always feel more uncomfortable with IBS in hotter weather. Especially when the things that can help comfort a flare up (hot water bottle and getting back under my duvet) don't feel very appealing. I also feel my body is generally under a bit more stress when its very hot and that in turn can impact IBS. Personally since having IBS the cooler Autumn and Spring months have been much more comfortable
I think the opposite, but these last two years my April and May have been the worst.
Definitely - the hotter the weather, the worse it gets for me. I find myself going back to a simple diet constantly. Although if there are thunderstorms then I can guarantee a flare up almost immediately - I swear there's a link somewhere.
