I get pain across my abdomen and back approximately twice a month .. and it lasts for around 3-4 days. The doctor says IBS. Does this sound like IBS? I haven't identified any triggers so far. I don't usually have any bowel issues.

Abdomen and back ache
I was having bad back pain intermittently and also had aching bones which was related to IBS by my GP I took ibuprofen and this helped massively when it did flare up
Thank you ..Will try that. I've been taking paracetamol.
My GP also advised that I was kind to myself, as I was over thinking everything and thinking the worst.I started breathing techniques and basic yoga along with taking ibuprofen and it definitely did help me. Good lick
Yes ..it is easy to over think it. I keep thinking there must be 'something' wrong to experience body discomfort like this...and so often....and just out of the blue at the age of 66. I was convinced for a while that I had some kind of cancer ....but the doc did the tests and ruled ominous things out 🤷♀️
Soy always sets me off and it’s a hidden ingredient in many things, especially soy protein isolate. I’m experiencing a flare up today, trying to figure out what caused it. I made chili for dinner last night and the seasoning packet I used may have had soy in it. Unfortunately the packet went out with the recycle. 😟. And yes, a backache accompanies the flare.
Did your doctor run any tests? They can't diagnose you with IBS without eliminating other things first:

When you get these pains have you tried Rennie Deflatine? Sometimes trapped wind can cause pressure and pain in the system like you are experiencing.
