Does anyone know is Lepicol works well for IBS-C? I’ve just been diagnosed and I’m on a low fodmap diet right now so I’m worried about taking any supplements that may interfere with that. I’m struggling so much, any advice will help even if you don’t know anything about the supplements I listed. I’m also suffering from severe acne and constantly tired, could this be due to the IBS and any tips with that?

Tips for newly diagnosed IBS-C? Is Lepicol and buscomint any good?
Hello, Cherubsbestie...I see that Lepicol contains inulin as well as psyllium. For me, inulin wreaks havoc with my innards so I couldn't recommend taking it. I take two spoonfuls of psyllium husk in lukewarm water every morning which has made a huge improvement in my IBS-C symptoms.
My diet is very strict (I've spent years working out exactly what foods or combinations of food affect me) and I walk for half an hour every day, if I can. I also take the occasional Buscopan for cramps.
Once you get a handle on what you eat, your energy should return. I used to spend days on the couch, wishing my life away from the nausea and pain. Now I swim and walk most days, and my social life is back to what it was. Wish you well.
I haven't tried either of those, but Surget56 makes some good points.
Here's what I've tried for IBS-C:

Note that low FODMAP can reduce fibre in the diet which can make IBS-C worse. Also being too low FODMAP for too long can compromise the microbiome which also impacts IBS. If you have had to eliminate lots of FODMAPS, you may need to work on improving food tolerance - the post above gives some information about this. Good luck.
