Have you been to the doctor? They would prescribe something stronger like bowel prep for feacal impaction. Have you tried milk of magnesia as well at bed time that’s very strong and will add to it that worked for me after being backed up post hysterectomy. Sounds like you need to see a doctor

If you're just taking laxido then you need other stuff added in or and enema if you've had 4 days of 8 sachet. Also, make sure the sachets are mixed with 125mls, no more, no less otherwise they don't work properly as they rely on the dilution for osmotic pressure

Hello Teshall. Yes, this impaction is dreadful. I had it when I was in hospital. We're all different but laxido etc is not always the best idea. Most suffers are releived by having an enema so I advise you to see a GP pronto or go to a "walk in" Urgent Care Unit.

If I go too long (for me that's 3 days) without much of a bowel movement then the only thing I've found that works for me in Milk of Magnesia.

I have chronic constipation and pretty much always have to use suppositories. For me, I've found that, contrary to some professional advice, REDUCING additional fibre such as fibrogel, helps "bulk up" poo so it's easy to push out. This after reading Levit's "The Bowel Book".

Do hope you get sorted soon.

Gussmithy.

You might to use a stimulant laxative as well. Something like senna.

Go to the drugstore or pharmacy and get yourself an enema bag. Fill it with 2 qts of warm water and add a little salt and baking soda. Hang the bag on the shower curtain in the bathroom. Lube your bum with some Vaseline. Stand next to the toilet and reach back and insert the nozzle. Let it flow until you feel cramps then stop the flow and sit on the toilet. Repeat this until you think you have removed the impacted material. It doesn't take long and you get almost instant relief. You don't have to keep putting harsh chemicals in your digestive tract then have to wait to see if anything happens.

It didn't work on me laxido. Was in agony. I went my doctor after 5 days and said need to do something fast. She said I'd it's that bad you need to go to casualty. She prescribed me Microlax mini enema and said try that first and if It doesn't go to hospital . It worked after second attempt.
