No, but I have had hip pain which necessitated a left hip replacement.

And probably totally unrelated to IBS then, no? I've got some other conditions it's probably more related to.

I frequently get low back pain and stiffness (very low, in the sacro-iliac area) Usually as a result of having done something my body doesn't like such as too much chopping wood or bending.

I had that for many years, since 1997 on and off. Been to doctor's umpteen times and all they tell me is it's NOT a slipped disk, and give me codeine which I never take.

rarely but sometimes in the past, referred pain has been felt in my hip, but has passed from there fairly quickly and it never feels like anything is wrong with my hips.

When my back aches worse, it can sometimes coincide with my gut feeling a bit worse, but not always. When it does, it's hard to tell if I was just working too hard when not in best condition because a flare up or one of my "mini flare ups" was nearby, and tiredness and body stress was more related to my flare up. I can't tell to be honest.

But yes, I have felt trouble in the pelvic bones, ligaments etc when my gut isn't too great.

When I have pain it's mostly located in the right pelvic area. Sometimes also in my right groin region and right lower back. So always on the right side of my body.

Need to add that since 2019 I still have a working diagnosis: functional bowel disorder with constipation and overflow diarrhoea and this hasn't been changed since despite several visits to different hospitals. Some of my symptoms are the same as people experience that have been diagnosed with IBS C, chronic idiopathic constipation or slow transit constipation.

Hello Meleber,I have hideous pain with my IBS and Coeliac disease which I must have had for many many years but dismissed as IBS until I went to new GP!

I am now trying plant based diet

I have hip pain now and again that does ease after using the toilet, I just thought it was the bowl being full and pressing on a nerve, I have never been told or heard of it being an ibs related

I am a celiac. We are more prone to osteoporosis as no matter how well we eat we cannot absorb calcium and vit D so well. I get lower back pain and iif my bowel is even a little full my legs go heavy too. This could well be the case for IBS sufferers as well, I have both.

Sometimes it seems to spread to the hip.

Absolutely get hip pain with my IBS -C / Diverticulitis. Really weird because it follows the edge of my hip bone when I press on the area. Definitely colon related and not bone related for me.
