has anyone been prescribed prucalopride 1mg . I know what its for but I just wondered if it is tolerated well without too many of the side effects it lists before I give it a go?

Thanks

I have been taking 2mg purcalopride for 2 weeks with no sude effects. Its supposed to help anyone with constipation that normal laxative don't work. Unfortunately it has made no difference to me . My condition has been diagnosed as SCT (slow colonic transmission). My consultant has also recommended Biofeedback therapy. Has anyone had this done. Would be grateful to hear from anyone who has done this and what it entails.

Hi I’ve been taking prucalopride 2mg for several years and to be honest I haven’t a clue if it works or not as I also take Dulcolax which is a stimulant laxative and Alflorex which is a probiotic. I have slow transit constipation and IBS which I’m finding very difficult to manage even when on a combination of medications. When I first took prucalopride I had some side effects for a couple of weeks - headaches - but only initially. It’s all trial and error I’m afraid and what works for some doesn’t work for others. Wishing you all the best.

I've been on it a couple of years it's the only thing that's helps. I had awful headaches for a few days but fine now.

I have prucalopride 1mg which has been sat in my cupboard the last year and I'm scared to take it, I too have slow transit colon and have been taking movicol everyday the last 2years but its not effective enough.

you should give it a go if the movicol isnt working it seems the worst we can get is a headache!
