I went for ultrasound yesterday as was getting terrible stomach pains over the months 😫 said that my liver spleen and kidneys were fine told him that my doc said i could have a lot inflammation in stomach he had look round found a 3 cm gap where muscles has come apart midline think its called diastasis recti , and he said they wouldn't pick inflammation on a ultrasound so back to square one but waiting for appointment to see gastro could b ages yet , i have ibs and bile acid malabsorption so could it be the bile acid causing the pain or the gap in muscles now this has been going on for nearly 8 years but never get any where any help

Ask the doctor to do a stool sample and test fecal calprotectin. This will show if there's any inflammation in you bowel

Are you taking colesevelam for the BAM? I upped my dose to 6 a day and it's been a life changer. It sounds like you've got further pain and difficulties and I'm so sorry for that - everybody's ibs experience seems totally different...but just in case you're not already on them, definitely worth trying....

Yes am on colesevelam i take 3 a day all they do is constipate me doc did say i could up them but thinking more constipation

I was taking 2 colesevelam and 2 loperamide (immodium) and getting constipation, ditched the loperamide and increased the colesevelam and that made a huge change....but everyone's experience so different. I hope you get seen soon and get some improvement...
