So moving on from my original post and I thank everyone who was kind enough to reply or offer support/suggestions.
I’ve spoken with a Dr this morning and have a face to face apt this afternoon. I started to try and eat small amounts of sloppy food yesterday. Scrambled egg and later a little mash in gravy. Last night bloated up like a balloon, hardly slept and this morning sick and explosive bowels even before taking my daily dose of laxatives. My temp is creeping up again and I’m on my last day of anti biotic 😓
The doc said they may have to send me back to the surgical wards again😫
My hope is I can stay home with more antibiotics and just stay on liquids. She’s signed me off for 2 weeks but has said it might take longer😳
I really hate this… I know I’m lucky as no perforations or surgery needed ( as yet) but I just want my life back. Not two weeks ago I was on my honeymoon in a really beautiful place and I’m thankful for that , I’m just gutted this was not how this year and start of my marriage was meant to be going!!!
Sending love and hugs to all of my fellow sufferers and thanks for being there in a virtual sense and let’s hope for better days ahead for all of us 🤞

So sorry to hear how much you are suffering. Can’t really help much, but just to say we feel your pain 😖 & hope your appointment goes well & you manage to stay at home. Best wishes for a speedy recovery 🤞
Yes am home still, back on liquid, no soft or solids for a few more days then just gradually try again, been told to reduce laxatives by one sachet every 3 days though interestingly the doctor told me that my scan did not reveal much about being constipated nor the write up mention that I was, so he thinks they want me to just keep things moving easier. He did say he was reluctant to put me on any more co amoxiclav as apparently they come with risk of c-diff. But just got to hope my fever reduces over the coming days and the pain doesn’t worsen or I’m to go back again.
Signed off now for couple more weeks but he’s warned me it might take longer😫.
Funnily enough the GP did say I’m at high risk of c diff due to the co- amoxiclav. That said having had experience of c diff ( from a nursing point of view) I don’t think it is. However if it doesn’t settle soon I will get tested.
Are you on Facebook? If so I would suggest you join the Diverticulitis Rescue group. I've had diverticulosis for over 20 years, with many diverticulitis attacks. I've tried everything and since January, when I joined this group, I feel a glimmer of hope that I can exercise some control over this horrible condition. The admin has had many attacks herself and hospital admissions but kept her bowels healthy since 2012. She has devised a 4 stages strategy. The first is clear liquids only for 1 to 3 days, then broths, soups, rice congee, smoothies in stage 2 moving on to more solid type food and eventually stage 4 which is a normal diet. It's a slow process and although my last attack was January, I'm only now cautiously in stage 3 and actually can't imagine being confident enough to eat salads, corn, nuts etc but many members have got there. Lots of info and recipes in the guides and the Admin is very 'hands on' and available to the members.
