Sure but I don’t thinks it’s from the ibs but rather from the anxiety it causes. Rashes are known to occur with both anxiety and depression. Also from summer heat.

See if you can get a blood test to check your liver is working fine (no raised enzymes etc)

Some years ago I had mono. After I recovered I had very itchy skin and went to a dermatologist. Very annoyingly, he did not pick up the problem and said it might be a small allergy from roses in my garden. A few weeks later I saw my gastroenterologist as BMs were a bit different. He immediately did liver blood tests and a liver sonogram. I had very high liver enzymes from having mono. They came down gradually, but took a few months.

So - your advice is very good.

Thanks for the advice. I will see what the doctor suggests.

I have been itchy for years. I suspected histamine but also with low histamine foods I itch. I think I am just sensitive to everything . My last liver test was normal.

I'd ask your doctor for blood tests to check your liver function and request an ultrasound of your gallbladder - this often gets overlooked and can cause problems. You might need allergy tests, my partner is allergic to Tetrasodium EDTA, (it's in washing powder and liquids, soaps, shower gels, washing up liquid etc) and was diagnosed after years of itching and rashes.

I've just had ultrasounds of every organ and it showed nothing although in the past I've been diagnosed with sludge and polyps in my gallbladder, and a slightly fatty liver. I'll certainly request a liver function test earlier than usual. I have one regularly in Oct as part of my annual medical.

Yes! I have very itchy skin with my IBS symptoms…my liver enzymes have been high for years, since I’ve started being tested for those in my early twenties. I don’t drink alcohol at all, so I’m not sure what would cause my bilirubin to be so high.

Definitely have that checked…best of luck to you!

Just wondering if they are connected. Going to have blood tests on Wednesday.

Be interested to know, hate blood tests, good luck.

Apparently all clear, which is a nice way to start the weekend.

I had eczema as a child and IBS as an adult. My nutritionist suggested a lot of skin issues arise from having bad gut bacteria. Maybe something to look into.
