I’m a 49 year old male who’s had IBS for awhile now. But notice when I have a flare up I notice it affects my urinary system also. Does anyone have this same issue?
IBS with urinary issues?: I’m a 49 year old male... - IBS Network
IBS with urinary issues?
sorry to hear that. Yes, it also affects me, with a feeling of inflammation and frequency.
Good morning,
43 year old male having had ‘IBS’ for many years and yes= 100% affects the unrinary system.
When having a flare up be it even mild, I drink and am then almost instantly peeing the liquid back out again…..
From what I’ve read & experienced tends to be a perfectly ‘normal’ symptom, albeit incredibly frustrating.
Hope this helps
yes I have similar symptoms although not always with an obvious flare up. Think it is now documented as an IBS possible symptom. Frustrating. I have found reducing fodmaps in my diet help.
Yes...and it seems to work the other way round tooUTIs can affect bowels
I guess we need to look at the body holistically
Hi,Yes often get the same. Not always but sometimes and it seems very much linked to times when a flare up is on the go.
It's another joy of IBS, my doctor said it was Irritable Bladder (also known as interstitial cystitis) - best advice I had was to drink more fluids especially water, (I know, seems ridiculous but it does work!) but if it continues check with your doctor as you might need medication.
I always pee more when I'm having a flare up of IBS -D. I can't ever understand why. My logic is baffled. I imagine if water is coming out in large quantities through the kidneys, then why is there too much water not being absorbed from the gut?? There must be a scientific reason but it's beyond me.
