Hi everyone,Has anyone had success with hypnosis? I'm seriously considering it as nothing is helping cure my IBS flare-ups, which present in debilitating cramps and headaches and are getting more frequent over time..
Hypnotherapy : Hi everyone,Has anyone had... - IBS Network
Hypnotherapy
It's worth a try, quite a few people on here seem to have done quite well with it. It didn't work for me but nothing works for me. No doubt others will come on and reply to you. Nerva is probably a good choice. Good luck, let us know how you get on.
I've had some success with hypnotherapy as well as past-life regression therapy. Past-life regression for IBS? It sounds bizarre, but after regressing to a past life where I had suffered a wound to my side, I was able to re-frame some of the pain and its given me some tools to cope with flare-ups.
Alas no, I am not susceptible to hypnosis. Tried to let myself go but couldn't. For me it was a waste of money but you maybe a good candidate for hypnosis so don't let me put you off. Good Luck
Thank you Linley, that's very interesting re the regression. Perhaps I'll try it if hypnosis doesn't work..
Hi! Yes, I have used the Nerva app for over a year and have found it to be very helpful. My IBS has gotten progressively worse over the years, especially after intense radiation in 1996 for aggressive uterine cancer. There is considerable damage to my digestive system and I have had a great deal of diarrhea, nausea, abdominal pain which, of course, has worsened with age…..I am now 81. But since doing the Nerva app the bad spells are much less intense and less frequent at times. Also, the addition of the probiotic, Florastor, in the last six months has also made a difference. Good luck! Hope you can find some help!
Hi ,
Yes I’ve done the Nerva hypnosis, it was okay but then I did a 12 session course run through Professor Whorwell’s IBS clinic , it’s Gut focused hypnotherapy. It has helped me a lot & I still listen to the recordings everyday
