This time the procedure wasn't well tolerated.Trainee did the procedure and kept missing the biopsy sight.Felt like I was choking and even vomited when tube in.Oh well it's over now.

Results

Apparently mucosal junction 38cm from the incisors

Oesophagus Normal

Stomach multiple fundic gland polyps

Duodenum normal

No evidence of cancer seen.

1 biopsy of stomach taken and 4 in small intestines.

No idea still why my ferritin levels are dropping

Fit test negative

Maybe the biopsies may shed some light

I'm glad you posted this my last test was done by trainiee, he was very rude shoved the camera down my throat without warning sratched the roof of my mouth and really made me feel nervous. And at the finish just said "Barrats is still there " and walked off.i was so cross but luckily I'm not one to complain. But I am worried about my next one and keep putting it off.

If you have Barretts you need it checking. I've had 6 endoscopy with no problems but this 1 was awful was done by nurses. This was on the 2 week cancer pathway as well.Just going to chalk it down as a bad experience.if I have to have another scope when I go in the room next time I will be checking who's doing the procedure

hi Paula, I am exactly the same, multiple fundic polyps etc. Do you take ppi medication. (lansoprazole) In my case, all the symptoms ate caused by taking Lansoprazole long term. If I carry on taking the ppi, I need to take iron alongside it to stop me becoming anaemic. I decided to stop the lansoprazole and take Gaviscon Double Action as needed. It made me really I’ll in the beginning. Hopefully the multiple polyps will regress, and the course of iron tablets will bring the ferritin level’s back to normal.

How long after stopping the PPI did you feel better? Has the acid stopped?
