It's good you are seeing a dietian but I would suggest you check in with your GP for the constant bloating. Good LuckšŸ€

Have you tried going gluten free? I get very bloated and swollen round the tummy when I eat gluten. I notice a massive difference if I stay away from it, I am half a stone lighter for a start after a couple of weeks of cutting out gluten, purely from having less inflammation in my body x

Hi , this may not be the case for you but I find drinking less alcohol, and eating less bread, crisps and sugary processed food, and drinking more water has really helped me. I used to wake up with terrible bloating each morning but now, if Iā€™m careful it does not happen. I used FODMAP diet for a little while to identify my triggers and dietician also suggested drinking more water throughout the day. Oh, and I find dairy a bad trigger for me too so Iā€™ve cut that out (mostly). Iā€™m so happy - itā€™s made a huge difference- very rarely get bloating now and only when Iā€™ve eaten trigger foods. A fresh coffee keeps me regular in the morning. Of course exercise also keeps system moving too. Good luck in finding what works for you. Donā€™t give up!

do you take a probiotic at all? I started taking bio-kult with my breakfast a few months ago and have found it really helps. I also rarely eat bread and have lactose free milk which I think has helped. Good luck, itā€™s awful I know!

It's so difficult and embarrassing isn't it.Just wanted to let you know you're not alone.i look pregnant with bloating all day everyday for past 4 months.I've tried excluding certain food, alcohol etc with no change.Currently off work with it as it causes me to feel fatigued and waiting a gastroenterologist appointment.I hope you soon see a change and start to feel better in yourself.

My SIBO practitioner recommended Atrantil to me. I used to look 7 months pregnant I was so bloated. I take 6 Atrantil a day now and the bloating improved straightaway. So much more comfortable now. Three months in and my stomach has returned to flat.

Interesting šŸ‘šŸ»

"Response of irritable bowel syndrome with constipation patients administered a combined quebracho/conker tree/M. balsamea Willd extract"

Source: ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articl...

"Though this pilot medical chart analysis was performed in a relatively small number of patients (n = 24) with IBS-C, the response rate was very high (88%). The small number of patients, the fact that they were drawn from a single site and the uncontrolled nature of the analysis with only therapy adherent individuals being evaluated are limitations for this study. Still, the statistical improvement in symptoms of abdominal pain, bloating and constipation found in this retrospective study are consistent with a previous placebo-controlled clinical trial[17]. Therefore, the results of this small open-label study of Atrantilā„¢ may be a useful intervention for patients with IBS-C and SIBO. Further, larger double-blind, placebo-controlled studies are needed to confirm these results."

Thankyou for this link. I am just rejoicing in finally finding something to help with my chronic 20 year long struggle with idiopathic constipation. It seems too good to be true. I don't normally get such luck. x

I'll try adding just one capsule horse chestnut extract (400mg, with a minimum of 50mg aescine (8:1) to my current regime of natural antimicrobials (berberine and andrographis) and see/feel what the effects will be in a weeks time. Besides I also take butyrate.

That sounds like a good plan.

Good luck. x

not sure if I will continue with horse chestnut or if I should add allicin instead. I hope that within a fortnight I'll get a more precise diagnose for my functional bowel problems and that I may try an experimental course of antibiotics (amoxicillin-clavulanic acid) to treat (my hypothesis) a chronic disbalanced microbiome in my small intestine.

I get mine from Supplement Hub online. They cost about Ā£38 for 90 tablets.I hope they work for you. I still can't believe how effective they have been for me. I don't normally get such luck. x

Meclizine. Over the counter non-drowsy dramamine has anticholinergic effects which will relieve the bloat and allow gas to pass.

It's your diet. Get rid of the junk food. I know, easier said than done. :) 99% of people with illness would benefit from the following: Eat nothing for 24 hours at least once every 2 weeks. Eat beef with Himalayan/Rock salt, butter, coconut oil, animal fats. Drink only water.
