My problem is ….when i eat food average size meal i always bloat bad, i look pregnant mostly and my colon pulls tight under my bust , and it feels like i’m being strangled inside. It does subside eventually but is very uncomfortable and seems to be getting worse.
I take Mebervine for the cramps which work. Does anyone else get this?

I get something slightly like this but slightly different. About 4 or 5 hours after my dinner (but not breakfast which is a smaller amount of food)
I am fine and feel normal until about 4 - 5 hours after when it feels like my colon is getting stretched low down on the left. And sometimes there's a bit of abdominal distension so I can look about 3 months pregnant.
It's just a 'discomfort' and not any kind of pain. Passing some wind can help a tiny bit.
It goes away after about an hour and doesn't come back that evening.
Mine comes and goes too. I can get weeks without it, then it comes back for a few days. It's not related to any food I have eaten as I always eat from my usual safe foods list.
It can be related to getting loose stool the next morning but it isn't always. I am 69.
Your right eating smaller amounts does help … but does not curb my hunger . My body still want normal size meal and feels ok when eating untill it starts to dinest it.
Yes,I also look pregnant if I eat a healthy portion size.and I I get that strangled feeling like I'm wearing a tight corset. I have lost a few kilos and am constantly hungry and having sugary tea to keep energy up.
Hi, I’ve been getting the same kind of symptoms as you for a while now. About a year ago I had a colonoscopy and diverticulosis was found. I bloated really badly with a lot of pain and discomfort but by trial and error I’ve found things that ease my symptoms-for now! I’m well aware that my body is changing all the time and at some point what helps me now may not in the future.
For bloating from trapped wind that won’t go anywhere I take Windeze pills. For me these work wonders. A couple of months ago quite by accident I found that live yogurt settles my whole system down and allows me to live a relatively ‘normal’ life. Again this works for me, it might not work for everyone but what I’ve worked out so far is that everything seems to be a process of trial and error to find what works for you.
Good luck with finding relief and believe me I share your pain!
i have the exact same symptoms. It driving me crazy. I've recently had an ultrasound on my pelvis and stomach to rule out any problems with my ovaries/organs, but everything was as it should. So waiting to go back to gp. No doubt further investigations. Mebeverine doesn't seem to do anything for me although peppermint capsules do help a little in getting rid of wind. But doesnt ease my bloating at all. I constantly feel like I have a bown up balloon on my stomach waiting to be popped
how long have you been taking klonopin? Be careful, it's addictive and very hard to get off. I'm in a similar place, I have constant colon pain which keeps me awake at night n and nothing really helps except zopiclone which seems to relax my colon . The problem is that I have become tolerant to it so it only works now and again these days.
My Doc gave me antihistamine - [ Promethazine hydrochloride 25 mg x 1]
This sends me to sleep But I only stay asleep if I take half a Zopiclone,at the same time, [ half a 7.5 mg pill.] It’s working over the past year. Good luck !
thanks for that , I've tried promethazine but it gives me terrible restless legs. I sometimes take half a 3.75mg of zopiclone and it works for a couple of hours , I wonder though if it is making my pain worse when it wares off as it affects your gaba receptors and downgrades them so you eventually don't produce enough of your own gaba ( which is a calming and relaxing chemical messenger produced in your nervous system) which can intensify the feeling of pain. It's a vicious circle, the pain gets worse so you need/take more zop or other benzos, tolerance hits then you have nothing.
