IBS and Ribbon stools

Hi all,

Ive been suffering from IBS for a while and have been having ribbon-like stools. I took a photo to show everyone. I want to know if you think my stool looks notmal or not.

I've just been diagnosed with ibs. Can't really see your picture.....and don't really want to either.....but I get flat poop too.

Looks Normal, I'm confused you even had to ask??? What's suppose to look abnormal. There's a web site that explains.

I think ‘ribbon stools’ means a lot thinner but I would speak to your gp and show them the pic, hopefully they will reassure you and can discuss symptoms etc if you haven’t received an official diagnosis due to having investigations for other things.

for IBS that is normal. I have same thing . I call them pencil stools .

When I use Miramax my stool gets stringy.

If it's any reassurance - I get exactly the same, usually last 4 to 5 days then settles back to normal... for a couple of days. Freaks you out when you first see it though!
