Have you tried anything at all?
Gastritis is horrible. I had that once when I was 12. The doctor put me on a diet to help it. I think the guidelines for that have changed nowadays, but on my diet list there was to be nothing fried or roasted, just plain boiled or steamed meat and fish, mashed peeled potato, white bread, some peeled vegetables and fruits, cooked only, not raw. But no acidic ones or even tomatoes.
I ate a lot of meat then, but wasn't allowed pork or lamb, and could only have fish, chicken without skin, or beef.
No 'roughage'. No chocolate (no alcohol, but that didn't apply to me then.) I was only allowed boiled sweets like murray mints or humbugs I remember! Some sugar was okay.
No spices or pepper but salt was OK. No onions. No cheese, but I was allowed fresh milk and butter.
We all ate much simpler in those days, and there were no "Italian foods" and "Indian foods" etc. and foods were always cooked from scratch, so it wasn't too difficult.
I did heal from it but it took a month or two I remember. I had to stick to the diet strictly.
I remember having the most awful stomach ache esp. after eating.
Have you tried Slippery Elm? It is very healing for the stomach.
hello Luisa
Yes im on a strict diet and have always been a sensible eater. I have ordered slippery elm from a reputable company so will give it a go. I think because I suffer with severe anxiety its a vicious circle as my brain activates my gut. Yes this is an awful problem as the sickness stops me wanting food so im losing weight rapidly. Im speaking to a doctor tomorrow so hoping for some anti sickness tablets. Thankyou for your reply.
