I understand. I get that bloating too, in the lower abdomen. It's fine during the day. I only eat a small simple brunch in the day about midday usually, but never any effects from it. I am IBS-D predominantly. I eat white ciabatta toast with butter for brunch, sometimes a handful of peeled grapes or some stewed apple.
Your idea of drinking hot water only first thing may help. I can sometimes have a small black coffee not too strong, so long as I'm not already in a flare up. I used to have hot water and lemon juice but it made no difference, and I like coffee more.
When I get the bloating is always about 4-5 hours after my evening meal about 6pm. I think it is eating vegetables that causes it with me. Obviously I am fine with carbs (bread=gluten) and butter. It's when I eat any veggies. But I am determined to do so. Tonight I ate asparagus and some green beans and a little bit of peeled cucumber and the bloating was a lot less. Yesterday some kale and a bit of broccoli, and it was BAD. But otherwise nothing else bad happened. And no flare up.
Passed wind 8 times last night, which helped a bit but tummy still looked probably 3 months pregnant. Tonight...no wind, and only about 3 weeks pregnant! lol
I heard asparagus is low fibre veg. It seems fibre gets me and bloats me. But asparagus is friendly so far.
The bloating in itself doesn't bother me too much. I wear stretch jogging pants in the evening. It's just when the aches and discomfort arrive that I hate it.
I used to get the bloating years ago but my Doctor advised me to always calm down and not to worry about any thing in life and take every thing as easy as I can so after watching my psycological issues, I never got any of the IBS symptoms nor bloating for several years until the spread of the COVID 19 which took me back to the old scenareo,, hope I can beat it this time ,,
I take over-the-counter Meclizine: relaxes the intestines, releases the bloat quickly.
You probably should get checked out by a doctor as you are so constantly bloated as there are many causes - you may find it helpful to look on the NHS website under "bloating" as there are some useful tips on what might be causing it and how to treat it.
Like you Susan I’m bloated all the time and have been for years. The reason I think is chronic constipation (my stools tho aren’t har, but my bowel is always full). I think over the years my bowel has become lazy and distended. I don’t know what the answer is, I feel I eat healthily. I would love to be one of these people who know their trigger foods which help them have a bowel movement!
Sometimes in the past before I got ibs, I used to get times when I felt my bowel was being a bit lazy too for a few days. What always worked every time were these foods: beetroot, carrots, apples, brown rice, lentils. But lentils might be too much for an ibs situation (either way, C or D.) I know carrots, beetroot and brown rice are on the low Fodmap list, but apples are high Fodmap, and lentils are very small amounts only I think
Lentils are a NO. well for me, had Lentil soup by heinz some years ago, never again lol
Suean, this livestrong link offers bloat relief through various vitamins. One listed to focus on is thiamine , when activated by magnesium, is required to activate B6. But thiamine is subject to being diminished or destroyed by anti thiamine factors which a comprehensive list can be found in the stuttersence link. More important is thiamine's role in IBS which the objectivenutrients & enutrition links expand on. Always consult your health care provider before using any supplement.

I have had debilitating bloating and IBS -Mixed for years. The first consistent relief that I've found is as follows: staying on FODMAP diet AND taking Iberogast AND peppermint before eating, AND taking senna, Linzess and Miralax nightly, AND using NERVA app (gut hypnotherapy endorsed my FODMAP’s Monash University). It took me, literally, 40 years to arrive at this mostly successful combination. The NERVA app has provided an extremely significant contribution , I believe, to the success of this combo approach. I am a counselor and the Nerva app (takes only 20 min) has been a pervasive aspect of my recovery . It is both pleasing to experience and easy to integrate into daily life. It has had overall psychological benefits, as well as helping calm my gut. Beh
