It can take up to 10 weeks for full pain effects to be reached for Linzess (Linaclotide).

I've never heard of Linzess ?, is it IBS related (I also get a pain usually when I'm constipated) you say lower right quadrant do you mean above your right buttock and in you back? ,that's where mine usually is , I have had test , but they showed nothing and gp said no follow up so again left to flounder as usual these days it seems .

It took about 2 weeks before I felt that it was starting to work. I’m on 290 mg. It can be very harsh on the the system at times.

You sound like me, how long have you been taking Linzess? I started 3 weeks ago but have to ease taking due to very unontrollable D.

I’ve been taking it off and on for about 5 years. I still find it unpredictable, some days it doesn’t help much but other days ( like today) I am experiencing awful diarrhoea. Just can’t win.

Thanks

I was on it for about a month, did nothing for my IBS-C. But it did cause leakage. Luckily I had just gotten home when it happened. That's when I stopped taking it.

What milligram was you on? Linzess works by moving water into the colon to push things out they have up to 290 mg. So you can expect to have the runs. If you really are set not taking that anymore I recommend trying out amitiza if you haven't found nothing yet. It's also for IBS but it's not as expensive as linzess but it is still expensive nonetheless because medical gets rich off of suffering

I started on the lowest dose, then increased to maximum dose. I didn't get the runs, the stuff did nothing at all to help with my symptoms, it just gave me a little anal. Only happened once, but once was enough.I will check out amitiza.

I found that Linzess helped me to a significant degree (when added to my usual “stunning” regimen of Miralax, senna 25 mg tabs x 5 up to 9, dulcolax, peppermint capsules, 1 probiotic, and Ibergast -the German formula). I still have periodic lower right quadrant pain. I have more “difficulty” if I stop Linzess so I have to give it credit for helping. Absolutely nothing has “fixed” the problem” and I am 70 years old and tired , literally, everything. a good luck beh

Thanks for the reply. You are the first person I have come across that said Linzess helped with abdominal pain. Gives me some hope. I take that in am and 17g of Miralax. Think I may try doubling the Miralax as my GI suggested.

I am attributing much of my recent recovery to using Ibeogast and the Nerva app. Along w Linzess . I have lowered my dose of 290 Linzess ( have cut in half) and added Iberogast x 3 daily and have used Nerva app daily for 3 weeks. ( I take double dose of Miralax). IBS has been a lifelong issue for me! Iberogast is OTC and made by Bayer Pharm. It has scholarly articles ( peer reviewed) and I am “sold “ on it. Best of luck! Beh

Thanks for your reply. My concern is that my lower right quadrant pain though mild to moderate is not intermittent. It seems to always be there. Even though I've been checked for everything. It feel like a pebble pushing me. Is that what your feels like?

They do have higher doses of linzess that you can take up to 290 mg. If worse comes to worse then that doesn't work try experimenting with miralax with that I think you can take it up to twice a day or even more than that based on what my gastrologist told me. If it still seems like it's not helping and I know it's not fun suffering for a whole month talk to your gastrologist about amitiza you take that twice a day once in the morning and once in the evening. You also need to remember some foods you're eating might be contributing to your pain. So even if you take these medications it doesn't mean that you can eat whatever you want and not expect not to be in pain. Experiment with your food find out if anything is causing you pain write down everything you eat each and every day if you find a day that you're not in pain try that food again and see if it's really not causing you pain. I'm giving you my experience with IBS even though you're talking about bladder condition in hopes it might in some way help you. Get well soon
