That does sound excessive I had D every day for eight weeks at my worst. Best to be checked out just to be sure nothing else is going on. May be worth discussing medication to help as I take some daily for cramps and to help with the D. Cutting out certain foods will help usually fried, spicy, fizzy and wheat and dairy are the main culprits. I also take a multi vitamin and probiotic every day.

Thanks for replying. Shes had fluoroscopy, x rays , ultrasounds and MRI. She has cut out fried, wheat , dairy, fizzy, sugars. Everything she eats is natural. She also has acidophillus. Im at the end of my tether- just dont know what to do. Seeing her crying all the time is tearing me apart.

Ive just found that Kings in London is good for gastro problems in kids . Think Im going to push for a referral there.

Check out dystonia. It does sound excessive, poor girl. I'm usually OK if I can get a good night's sleep by whatever means necessary.

I suffered from that, cant actually remember how long but I was in constant and acute pain for approx 6 months. Now, I am much better and only have pain a few times a week. I was lucky that I had a really good gastroenterologist who checked my digestive system from top to bottom with cameras- nothing. It was suggested to try FODMAP, hypnotherapy, counselling, relaxation, acupuncture. I slowly worked my way through the list and it seems to have worked for me. I would say that personally the counselling has had the best result with the FODMAP a close second. I also do tai chi which has been newly suggested. This not only relaxes you but also works on your internal organs, esp the digestive system. After a session I do find I have a clear out the sets me up for the rest of the week. Going back to the FODMAP- it is amazing what fruit and veg set me off- I cant eat apples or broccolli to name the most obvious. I can only mix certain foods depending on the FODMAP. Its amazing how painful bloating is!

Hope this helps- I found a solution. Just try everything and hopefully something will help.

She has now been diagnosed as having severe ibs-c . We have a bag full of lotions and potions the consultant says he is 99% sure they will help her within 2 weeks. She was on the SCD diet which he has said she mustn't do and must only be dairy free. Failing this working he is going to give her a colonoscopy in 12 weeks time.

Thanks for your replies - I will look into the suggestions you have made xx
