Needing a repeat of my stool sample (Calprotectin). Doctors have said it is ‘borderline’ and I had to resubmit a test on Friday, very very nervously awaiting result which I expect tomorrow.
I’m aware this is an IBS forum, so the people seeing this are likely to have it and have been diagnosed through this method? (I am estimating a bit). But I’m wondering if these repeat tests can actually just be completely normal and not something to worry about?

Between 50 & 150 is classed as borderline. They may just want another to see if it's come down. The GP'S use this as a referral method to warrant further testing or to secondary care
Yer loads are like that. Inconclusive results. They can be raised if your a bit unwell I think to. The second will probably be fine tbh if not they may refer you which is also fine. I take it your bloods are ok and showing no signs of inflammation?
My iron and Vit D are both low, but in fairness I've become a vegetarian in the past 2 years and haven't had bloods done at all, and don't get much fresh air which explains both of those. Nothing that I'm aware of really indicates so.
Yes I had this and had to repeat one of my stool samples like u I was worried but then it came back normal so try not to worry. Like viklou said it could be borderline and just want to recheck.
Agree with others; it is merely to check that it has come down so they can compare. Don't worry, if it is up they will refer you to gastro. It is very unlikely to be anything serious though!
Thought I’d give an update on this, after being very nervous for a long time I’ve finally had an update to say that everything’s come back normal! I was convinced I had something wrong with me as a blood test the same week showed low Iron for the first time in my life, as well as a few other things. Hopefully this can be something positive to read if anyone else is in a worried position when getting one of these tests done - I had massive anxiety, was convinced something wasn’t right and the tests have proved me wrong!
