Not sure if anyone can pass me any advice but I’m suffering with pain in my stomach all over . I went to the Doctors who felt my stomach put pressure on ect and it was really sensitive when he pressed on my stomach. I’m getting nausea , feel bloated , constipated , gurgling sounds all day every day the dr doesn’t have a clue what it is and blood tests have come back normal . I am having some more blood tests next week and I am on some tablets for it call Alverine. They don’t seem to help ease the above issues . I do intend to have a flare up when eating fish but when I don’t eat fish I still have flare up each day . May be IBS but the dr would of said it . I am awaiting a referral for gastro. Any advice would be great full, this happends 24/7

Have done in the past and came back normal ,
Good morning Rhino03z, I am sorry you are feeling unwell, but it sounds like your doctor is doing the right thing by running several tests. IBS is usually diagnosed when all other possibilities have been eliminated. While you wait for your test results, have a look at what you are eating and drinking, maybe try keeping a food diary to see if there is something that triggers your symptoms. Best wishes.
I'm sorry you're having a bad time and I'm glad you've found us. It's good to have somewhere where people know how it feels. The big issue with IBS is that there isn't a single definitive test or solution and the severity and symptoms vary from person to person so getting a diagnoses takes a lot time and a lot of tests. Basically the doctor will rule out everything else and then diagnose IBS.I know from experience how rough it is trying to get diagnosed and to find a routine that works for you.
The sad news is that, assuming it is IBS, there isn't a cure and you will need to find a way to control your symptoms and live with it.
That said it isn't all bad. There's a good variety of medications available and if you can find out your trigger foods you can dramatically cut down your flair ups. A food diary is a great way to do that and it's worth remembering that combinations of foods can trigger too.
Hope you have a good day.
Yes, maybe like me you have a sensitive stomach as well as certain triggers. As I've got older I've developed more; fats, tea , coffee, fizzy drinks, chilli , eggs, more than 2 slices of bread ...as well as quite a few not approved on the Monash low fodmap guidelines. Had a flareup recently for about 16 hours due to too much beetroot in a salad.
