Sometime back I read that antihistamines can help with the pain and sure enough during hay fever season whilst I was taking my over the counter antihistamines my IBS was better. At the end of the hay fever season I stopped taking my antihistamines and things got worse. I have now resumed taking my tablets and feel better. Some of the products make me feel a bit sleepy so I take them an hour before bedtime. Worth a try?

Yes, antihistamines have a constipating effect, so can help with diarrhoea. Unfortunately for me I get bad reactions to insect bites so have to take them immediately if I get bitten, so I don't feel I can use them for the IBS in case they don't work when I need them for a bite!
what antihistamine do you take?
