Lansoprazole Post H Pylori

Anyone else struggled with Lansoprazole? I feel like it makes me itchy and my skin sensitive however I am loathed to stop it as I am very fearful that any ulcer may not have healed yet. H pylori 4 weeks ago had the triple treatment for 7 days and continued using Lansoprazole since. Anyone else any experience of this??

Do you know if you had an ulcer? Did you have and endoscopy? If Lzolz is affecting you in the way it is stop it or return to your GP. I much prefer H2 Blockers. No side detectable effects for me.

Unfortunately I do not know.if I had an ulcer as I had no endoscopy this is what panics me 🙈

Why do GPs prescribe when there is no diagnosis!? In your position I would push for an endoscopy. I had to push. In the end I went to my MP. I was told a 90 week wait.

And the endoscopy showed the H Pylori as well as fundic polyps caused by PPIs.

I'm sorry you had to go through that! How long did you actually wait in the end? Thank you (I mean that) you have given me the confidence and will I needed to go and push 👍

Yes, push. After I wrote to my MP it took about four weeks to get an appointment and maybe another 3 weeks to have it. My MP had boasted in her newsletter that there were hardly any waiting lists at our hospital. She couldn't really afford to fail!!!

Hi there. I was on a high dose Lansoprozole and at the time it did give me an itchy skin. I was taking 30mg twice a day. Because of that I tried Omeprazole and that really hurt my tummy . I then tried an H2 blocker and stayed on that until my esophagus healed. I have also been on Lansoprozole at the 30mg dose 1 x a day and no itch on that dosage.
