Colon Hydrotherapy

Hey everyone!

So I have IBS-C, I get colon hydrotherapy once in a while.

The mast time I did was before Covid so by the end of 2019.

Today I got colon hydrotherapy and about 40 minutes in I threw up green/yellow liquid. We ended the session real quick.

I tried looking online, it seems pretty uncommon to throw up during the session.

Does anyone usually throw up during their session?

You should tell your doctor about this.

Otherwise known as colonic irrigation, a tube is inserted into your colon and water pumped up to get your bowel to empty

I am prescribed an irrigation system to use at home. At the moment it is daily. I never feel sick or throw up. I have regular contact with the clinic so it's not advisable without medical supervision. I agree you should see your doctor.

Sounds like you threw up bile if it was green and yellow, was it green like fairy up liquid ?

You can throw up green/yellow bile also if your bowel is blocked, hence colonic hydrotherapy??? Maybe it made you sick because the blockage was cleared.... xxxxxx

Thanks all! I actually ended up going to the ER.

It was bile that I was throwing up yeah.

They did some tests and an xray.

I also started pooping blood and mucus that’s why I went to the ER.

Eventually they said nothing was wrong with me.

Very confused.. but oh well.

I have an appointment with my GI doctor in April, I’ll definitely mention this incident.

They shouldn’t have let you go SABAS, throwing up bile is a sign of a bowel blockage sweetheart, I watched my dad go through the same thing, I would demand that they do every test possible to find out exactly what it is, I’m not trying to scare you btw just want you to have piece of mind and be comfortable xx

Yeah I agree with you! Everyone around me said the same.

Unfortunately healthcare in Canada is not only slow but, there is no such thing as urgent care. I sat in the emergency room for 9.5 hours before they saw me.

During the examination he pressed my upper abdomen and it made me nauseous so I told him.

Then during the anal examination he wore gloves and lubed then inserted a finger.

In a second i was crunching so hard and my stomach was in so much pain. I was sick again.

That’s when he asked for the xray.. then he said it was nothing but I had a lot of stool show on the xray.. it felt really useless because duh I have chronic constipation.

I’ll contact the GI doctor to see if he can see me earlier than April.

Thank you for responding to me! 💜

I would advise against this. Maybe google it.The cons of this procedure. My friend had this done and it perforated her colon. So much water is forced through. I think it can be quite a dangerous practice. I hope you feel better soon..
