Hi After 4 hrs in A&E I was informed my lack of BM's and associated symptoms are due to Colonic Constipation . In all my years of IBS and other digestive problems I can not recall reference to this 'diagnosis'. After a Fleet enama I was discharged.
Would be interested if anyone else has been given this diagnosis. Thank you

I have chronic constipation maybe it's just a term they used that just means constipation in general 🤷♀️ or that it's just in the colon. Sorry I can't help 😔
My spelling mistake and yes I have chronic constipation.Apologies. Have moved on since posting now sheduled for Bowel Motility Test due to complete 17th Nov. Colonoscopy done in October , yhankfully clear. Just wish I could have normal BM's
Same here. I too was told I had slow motility after the test, and severe narrowing of the colon. I take linoclotide now every morning otherwise I can't 'go'. It softens the stool, but it does give be cramps most days, better than not going at all. I have apppointment with surgeon on 13th Nov, may have to have surgery
I can't eat much fibre as it seems to bung me up even worse. Having slow transit causes more water to be reabsorbed in the colon, making stools hard, having too much fibre just makes it worse. Linaclotide is a medication that draws water into the colon and softens stools. Thanks for your kind wishes
