Colonoscopy and worried
The results of the biopsies should not take too long. This is also very common and usually happens if polyps are found. If you don't hear from your doctor by late in the week call him.
THey took biopsies with my endoscopy, of stomache lining , all was ok I think they mostly do if they get in there lol
Just to make sure x
It's routine, while they are in there they will take biopsies so you've had a thorough check. You should have been told this before the procedure
I was very worried when I had mine, they took 16 biopsy’s, had to wait a couple of weeks because of Covid for results but every thing was fine, im sure yours will be.
I had a colonoscopy a couple of years ago for IBS. The surgeon took three biopsies- one each from the middle and ends. He explained that this was routine, and the colonoscopy had not revealed anything. All three were clear.
Samples are taken all the time mostly to check for microscopic colitis, if your colon is inflamed or you’re had blood or mucus
Hi Kell2020 You may have got your results back by now. I had a sigmoidoscopy a few years ago and they took some biopsies and removed some polyps too. I was concerned too but the results all came back clear. I think it is routine to do biospsies. I hope all will be well.
