Hi TRAY14, just had the procedure and with Sedation felt very little, perhaps a little movement. Watched all on high definition screens . I think the worst of it was the following the Diet before, bland food and nothing to eat the day of the procedure. The laxatives x2 are extremely effective!!!.I was well looked after by the team (NHS) The Result, if clear is given on the spot. Just relax ......................... John. Best Wishes

The massive screens were fascinating and very weird. Felt like Pink Floyd should be providing the soundtrack.

Hello. I had the colonoscopy a couple years back. I didn't feel 99% of it. They did hit a painful patch, but they're very careful and it was short lived. Everyone else I know that has had it was smooth sailing. The only other discomfort I had was after the procedure from bloating. Be prepared to pass a lot of gas - everyone in the recovery room is. One tip for the prep I got from a friend. Some of the liquids are easier to get down if they're cold - they taste better. But I had to drink so much that it chilled me to the bone. So set up shop in your bathroom with the shower so you can hop in and out and warm yourself up. Once the laxatives started working I didn't leave the bathroom - bring entertainment.

Good luck and try not to worry.

Thank you, I'm feeling much better about the whole thing I think, everyone is very encouraging 😊

Getting a diagnosis is well worth any discomfort that you may feel. You will have sedation of dome sort, I had a cannula in my hand,

As has been said you may know something on the day and there will be wind afterwards so let it go

Good luck

I had one and nothing to it, had no sedation at all, better to find out whats causing your problems then you can deal with it. Found out I had colitis which I deal with diet, best of luck

Should ezero pain and you will awake and have no idea that anything happened. The sedation is wonderful if you have the right one. I think Propanol?

Hello there, I had colonoscopy yesterday with sedation. This had no effect on me as they gave me very little, they will however give more if needed. I had minimal discomfort, these specialists train for many years & are very proficient. Please do not worry, it will be over quickly & is so worth it. Best wishes.
