Hello,

Did you anyone have a flexi sygmoidoscopy and it missed anything sinister? I had one last year because of the red blood but they found nothing. Now I have been having a change in bowel habit( going more loose), cramps before and after going to the toilet. Fit test came up negative and I don’t have anemia. The doctor thinks it’s ibs and wouldn’t send for any more tests as they are too busy with the Covid and vaccination.

Will really appreciate peoples experience about that.

I have had numerous sigmoidoscopies and they never find anything. They say my bowel is healthy yet it causes lots of pain and heartbreak. I am much better since I started using kimchi but it’s difficult to get hold of. It’s always sold out in the health shops. I’m going to have to order it on line. Con amore Bx

Thank you for your reply.I have been taking probiotics for the last few weeks , they didn’t make a difference so might try kimchi next.

I just wish I would have opted for colonoscopy last year as I went private but at that moment I didn’t have any other symptoms except red blood and I thought sigmoidoscopy would be enough .

If you do get hold of some kimchi it’s very versatile. You can put it in soups or on the side of the plate as a sauce or even in an omelette. It’s korean and it’s been fermenting in the ground and has gained lots of good bacteria over time. Buona fortuna. Bx

I had one 6 years ago for the same thing and found piles. I think you can definitely develop ibs through trauma like infections of the gut etc that then makes it more sensitive

What is your concerns?

Mainly that the symptoms of IBS and cancer are so similar..

homehealth-uk.com/Take a look at this website. If your concerned you can buy test kits for all manor of things.

I’m 51 now and thing like this cross your mind. It’s quite natural. I think everyone thinks the worse. But you have had blood tests and sigmoidoscopy and a fit test. You could put your mind at ease and buy your own h pylori and calprotectin test kit.

I got one the other day from them. If it shows up then go back to your doctor. If negative then it’s a tenna well spent
