Pain: Hi guys having a bad few days been in lots... - IBS Network
Pain
Hi me too I can't remember the last time I slept properly as the pain is unbearable especially at night I keep waking up with trapped wind and just can't get rid of it 😩
I used to have same probs... for years. Ended up in hosp. Couldnt figure it out so i took it into my own hands... saw a alergist/ nutritionalist.
I now have strong probiotics, digestive enzyme and peppermint oil capsules half hour before meals and it has helped me alot.
Also found out i was alergic to cows milk, eggs, gluten and yeast.
So i now have soya milk.
It has changed my life.... all from holland and barratt nothing expensive
Hi Lulububs please let me know the name of the digestive enzymes and probiotics. I have tried quite a few and expensive ones and they have not worked for me.
There just holland and barratt. There mega potency acidiphilus. Digestive enzyme, dida tablets. Peppermint capsules. I take one if each half hour before i eat. So before brekkie, lunch , dinner! It helps u digest ur food. The peppermint stops the wind and indigestion.
I try to do it all naturally as none of the tablets the dr given me worked!
I also watch my diet
It's just trial and error really isn't it but it can be costly to keep trying different things. I've tried Mebeverine, Buscopan and now just been prescribed Audmonal by the doc as well as Omeprazole every day. I started taking Bimuno a week ago as I read on the internet that it completely changed the life of someone! But what works for one doesn't always work for another we live in hope 😐
First, let's try to deal with the pain. Have you tried to take Buscopan for cramps? if not, please try them. From then on take a glass of hot water from the kettle every morning. No tea, no coffee, just the hot water. It is a very old remedy my grandmother taught me, and I am in my sixties. I use it most days. If I have a flare up the first thing I do is take the buscopan, either one, the one for cramps or the ordinary one for IBS in general. Usually the pains stop within half an hour. Now your diet. I have learned fro many long years of having this that eating bran every morning, and sometimes at night too if i'm having trouble with constipation. Try not to take a lot of sweet foods and take plenty of fresh fruit, especially kiwis, they have a lot of fibre in them. I wish you all the luck.
Hi i take mabeverine for the cramps and loperamide for runs,, I eat fresh fruit and veg every day but will try the hot water in the mornings thankyou
Totally agree with the hot water ... sometimes i put peppermint oil in to so it really gets the wind moving!!
My nan always told me hit water and tiny bit of brandy and ginger that works to and relieves the spasms as it relaxs u but u dont wana do that to often lol or ur b drunk
The old remedies are the best. They knew how to do these things before they even invented pills! lol
Yes defo, i do all the old remedies before i go to actual medication.... even period wise it the brandy , hot water bottle and loadsa green veg before i hit the painkillers...
Ibs, i gave up all the gluten, dairy and it the old hot water, brandy, peppermint, probiotics!!
And just hope it works!! Before i open the medicine cabinet
Sorry you are feeling do low. Hope the responses and suggestions work for you. I have today started on Buscopan. I will try anything and have picked up a few tips from the other comments. Recommend giving up dairy and Gluten as it helped me. Good Luck
