Hi, so I've been taking pinaverium bromide for my stomach issues for a few months now and at first it was working wonders but now my stomach attacks are coming back on the daily. This is my first prescription for dealing with this as I've always jut kind of put up with it. Is it normal with IBS to have to change meds often that they stop working? I feel like this pills just seem to delay the attack now but arent stopping the pain and symptoms

In my experience it is a case of a short term fix, or no fix at all. More a distraction than anything else. I haven't met anyone in my 25 years of suffering from what we now know as IBS to have been cured by a drug. They just change the symptoms to make it more manageable until a source can be found. And then it's a case of removing the source be it diet, stress or something else.
The key, I personally think, is the quicker a source can be found, the better it will be too over come. And the less likely the brain will get into a repeating pattern. Finding the source is no easy task mind.
