Regular bowels.

I was diagnosed with IBS back in the late 80's. And am sure that the trigger is anxiety related in my case. According to my GP I also have internal haemorrhoids, although I don't get bleeding just discomfort.I wake in the morning and have to visit the toilet urgently every day (usually only once). Loose stools, but not diarrhoea.

My question is, do any other sufferers have similar symptoms? And has anyone tried Nerva, and did it help?

Thanks.

Hi. I've had IBS the same length of time. Since I've had Covid back in 2020, 3 times including this January it has affected my ibs and gut . I looked at Nerva but decided to work with a psychotherapist who does NLP. As I know the stress I have definitely affects my bowels. Yesterday was very challenging stress wise and I had the runs but got through without imodium by visualising my happy place and calming my gut down. Plus doing my simple breathing exercise to calm my tummy down. There is for me a definite link between my brain and gut symptoms. Ava

Thanks for that. I try to calm my gut daily. Sometimes it works, but more often not.

hi I have similar symptoms have to rush to the toilet and usually have to go a few times usually in the morning and I have noticed it’s worse if I’m stressed or anxious I haven’t tried Nerva but thinking about it.

Thanks, I contacted Nerva once and now get daily emails. Trying to resolve the nerve issues myself.

I have IBS + piles and for sure anxiety , that is the main cause of my problems like yourself.

I try to get my head in a 'good place', but it doesn't always work. Seems like a viscous circle at times. Thanks for replying and hope you can resolve your problems.

Hi, I subscribed to Nerva, tried it religiously for the 6 weeks recommended, and then continued with it for another 3 months because I was impressed with the programme. I have always believed in hypnosis so I was quite hopeful. However, I was pretty sure from the outset that my IBSD was not related to stress, as my flareups often occurred whilst I was relaxed, reading a book, gardening etc.

I found it excellent though at helping me go to sleep on a night! I have always struggled to fall asleep and can spend hours tossing and turning which I think it bad for my general health. I also learnt new breathing exercises, and discovered that I don't breathe deeply enough and maybe the shallow breathing, posture etc, can affect my digestion.

I would recommend Nerva, for the price of I think £99 per year, I found it well worth it. And there is a link available giving 33% off, if you email them and ask them they will send you the link. Hope this helps.
