Red wine and dark stools

Is red wine quite common to discolour stools?

I had a fair amount last night (3 large glasses) and today my stool was verging black and was quite a fair bit of mucus. Usually it’s just normal looking. Seems coincidental that 1. The wines aggravated me perhaps due to the mucus and 2. The colour of it.

In what way? What does it do to you? I had such a fright this morning. Hoping it’s just the wine. It’s an isolated incident so seems coincidental

Sends my guts into a frenzy. Vomiting pain and diarrhea. Bad enough for me to never touch the stuff again put it that way. I suppose it affects everyone differently though

Ever since being diagnosed with IBS I’ve noticed wine will do that to me.
