Sorry, I know this is gross, but I’m not finding anything that looks relevant to my situation on Google. Is this mucus? The first pic is from today, second from day before yesterday. The fibrous looking things were sitting on top my stool initially. I’ve had mucus intermittently the last couple of months, but this is new.
edit: since the images were removed I’ll do my best to describe the consistency. What occurred day before yesterday and today was something that had the appearance of a wet tissue sitting atop the stool. It kind of resembled layered mucus. Additionally, today there was some kind of dotted, white looking thing - probably the same substance, maybe just in lesser amounts - on the stool. If anyone is eager to help, has had this problem, etc. and wants to see, feel free to message me directly since I cannot post the pictures here.

Sorry, I came here from a couple of posts I saw on Google where there were pictures attached. I am at a loss of how to describe this so I do not know what to search for.

I get mucus in stool and fart mucus when I go out to restaurants to eat. My stomach is very sensitive to food, I don’t know what it is but I tend to eat gluten free food when I go out. I was told by the doctor that it is normal for someone with IBS and I should get on with it. It would help to know what your trigger food to cause the mucus and avoid it.
If anything go to the GP and give them a stool sample to test it and refer you to the gastroenterologist.
It might be worth seeing your pharmacist and showing them as they are medically trained. It could be mucus but equally it could be something else. Have you eaten something different to usual? Is it possible you have worms?
I have Ulcerative colitis but that alone is unusual as you normal have more symptoms in a flare. I had a colonoscopy a couple of weeks ago and it was pretty clear so they said IBS this time (still have colitis as you can’t get rid of it but can have both)
Hi. I have had my mucus range from clear, to white, to an orange brown jelly. I had a fecal occult test recently because I could not ascertain whether there was any blood in it. It came back negative. I think what you eat is the defining factor, how often, how much etc.. However, I would say definitely visit the dr, if only for peace of mind. It's the stress and anxiety we suffer that makes our IBS worse, so the more you can do to head it off the better you will feel. Good luck.
ConcernedAboutStool Did you ever figure out what this is? I've has this a could of times recently (after drinking and eating a lot), exactly how you describe like a layer of white tissue paper on the stool! My stools have always gone back to normal afterwards but I'm super worried so wondered if you figured it out!
