Severe bloating after BM?

Hi everyone,

I’m new to this forum, and new to a diagnosis of IBS. I have lots of questions, but this has been worrying me for a while. Does anyone get extremely bloated after a BM? It doesn’t seem to matter if I am constipated or if the stool is loose, I bloat out so much that feel abit faint.

Yes! It’s horrible isn’t it. I joined the IBS network which is a charity (there is a small annual membership fee) and I found more information about this particular issue on there, it explains this is a ‘normal’ symptom of IBS. Most sites say bloating improves after a BM, I have always been the opposite which had worried me.

Hi Helena, through my own journey i have mapped hours of IBS study, some symptoms can be relieved after a BM others not. Its the same as some people experience IBSC or IBSD or both (like me) go figure huh?
