Hi.I posted a week ago regarding continuous abdominal pain..I had sudden onset aged 60..It started 3 weeks ago and still have it tho not as badly..I have alternating ibs d and c..It is not so bad in the morning but gradually gets worse as the day goes on..related to food I assume..I paid to see a Gastro a few days ago..he was very thorough and is "99% sure its IBS but has offered to book me a scan later if I'm worried..I had a colonoscopy a few years ago which was clear..also a raft of blood tests recently when I got diagnosed with overactive thyroid and everything else came back normal.(I'm not altogether convinced that thyroid drugs didnt cause ibs..) Anyway decided to go down the CBT route as I'm massively stressy anyway..Wondered if anyone else had tried this and how it went?..Thanx everso.

Snap, mine came on about 4 months ago i think due to a few drinks one night that set something off, I have constant discomfort all day, sometimes a little duller and sometimes like a burning pain that seems to go to my back. If i press my stomach it feels tender around my belly button, to be honest a dermatologist put me on a stupid drug for teenagers called accutane, low dose i know but i think thats what set it off, add in stress and worry and bingo you have the perfect flood. Like you it is most comfortable in the morning when its not as bad, but gets worse over the day so must be food related i guess. I dont want to think i have this forever?

Hi.Thanks for the reply..I think it's the fear that I may have this forever has made me go down.the CBT route..I figure if I can find a way to stop stressing about it ,it may ease off...Fingers crossed..and I hope you feel better soon.
