Hello again, just a quick question, Iā€™m already on anti-sickness tablets but have the most awful nausea, especially in the morning. Iā€™ve been taking opiate based painkillers which dissolve under your tongue, could this be causing the nausea, just feel so yukkk, Iā€™m forever looking for answers, just need some reassurance I think. Thank you for reading

Yes opiates can make you feel sick and indeed make you sick. I can't tolerate oramorph at all, ok with codeine phosphate but codeine sulphate is another no go

I have diverticular disease but it's not really an issue unless it's inflammed and it becomes diverticulitis. This can be a medical emergency. How long have you been in pain like this for. If bad you need to go to A&E. The opiates can also cause gut pain if taken on an empty stomach hense kind of a vicious circle.

Hi viklou, Iā€™ve been in pain for some while now, but itā€™s more of a ache most of the time, Iā€™ve had a course of antibiotics about a month ago for divaticulitus and been medication for a couple of years, has all the tests going, colonoscopy, gastroscopy, ultrasound, numerous blood test and ct scan, so it is just chronic long running pain, I also suffer from anxiety so just a viscous circle really. Just want to feel good, but my anixty wonā€™t let me I suppose, thanks again for your kind response

The key things for me are to eat little and often. Even if you're not particularly hungry. I can't eat large meal anymore. The only time I can't eat is when I'm being sick. I've ended up being admitted on intravenous fluids and anti sickness a few times now. Most days I have some degree of pain but I suppose it's my new normal. I've started making my own soups for bad days so I know I'm actually getting some nutrients inside. I'm thankful that I don't suffer anxiety and I'm still able to work, plus I can manage my own work diary so this does help
