Hi all, I’ve been unwell with IBS and divictular disease for longer than I can remember, I’ve had a lot of test lately, colonoscopy, gastroscopy, ultrasound, stool test and now just had a chest abdominal and pelvis ct scan. I’m under the care of colorectal now. But it doesn’t matter what I do I still don’t feel well, I so upset by it all, what are your symptoms and how do you deal with them, is it anxiety make me ill or is it my condition, just want to feel well. My tests came back ok but I haven’t had the results of the ct or blood test yet and my stool test showed high calprotectin, what is going on with me. My symptoms are nausea, upset stomach, belching, soft and frequent stools, headache and the list goes on. Thank you for reading, sorry for the long rant

Hi. I have lots of problems with my tum too. I have Diverticular disease as well. My mum used to suffer terribly with tum problems and it seems I'm following the same way. At the moment I have trapped wind and it's stuck around my left side above my hip.....trying Senocalm tablets, and they aren't doing much yet. My mum used to sip hot water and have Colpermin and Buscopan meds. I am going to try the charcoal mentioned on this group.......the pain makes you miserable and you can't be far from the loo. Really wish I had a good stomach like my dad. He is 80 and has an iron stomach much better than mine.
Please don't give up, your illness must be very debilitating, a friend of mine has diverticular disease and it gets him down too, as it would with everyone. I am someone who has chronic conditions and for me the doctors were not the answer, I think these days (going by my own experiences) that we have to look further a field to books written by people who have improved there situations or even got well. I think if something really concerns you then go to the GP to rule out any concerns, but when it comes to treatment - they are way off the mark. There is so much information out there and these great Heathunlocked sites full of wonderful information from fellow sufferers ............ there is always hope and you will be suprised the difference you can make
Best wishes

Read all you can about ibs. Especially
The clever guts diet by dr Michael Mosley.
I’ve had your symptoms for more than forty
Years. Now I am well but it takes a lot of management.
The saddest thing is that I couldn’t manage sexual interaction after the age of thirty three and no sex means no babies. Apart from that I have had an ultra interesting life and I never let the condition beat me.
I’m not a believer but I’ll still say god bless.
So sorry you feel so bad. My symptoms are nothing like yours not as bad but I've suffered since I was 5 years old due to a rotten childhood. As other replies on here have suggested wait till you get the results of your tests and then see. It is absolutely miserable suffering from stomach problems but it's good to know we're not alone and we have people on here who understand. Try and stay strong.
