Sorry for tmi pics!

Have never experienced a bowel movement like this in my 50+ years. It has me concerned. I had some cramping or tenderness just below my belly button prior to going to the bathroom. Still have some but it feels more like a relief tenderness that you feel after being constipated and finally having a movement. The feces were normal looking on the outside but looked all black and fuzzy on the inside.

Thanks for keep reiterating this IBSNetwork. Is there are way that when people join the network that new members need to agree via some sort of tick box that they won't post these photos or at least are given a message in bold about it when they sign up? I think the problem is, people don't know until they've posted the photos and by then it's too late. New members arrive all the time, which means we regularly keep getting these pictures.

I agree with IBSNetwork. Please call your GP to organise an appointment to get a proper diagnosis.

Hi, I'm not adversed to looking at the odd poo picture myself and I'm intrigued by your picture and your wording, especially your last sentence. Please let us know what you doctor has to say about it. I for one would be very interested. Maureen.

Yes..I suffer from IBS-C for twenty years. I can't have a bowel movement on my own. The only thing that helps me is the stimulant laxative Senna. My movements are different. Sometimes pellets..sometimes mushy stuff.. sometimes a movement that is huge looking like an enema style movement. It's not fun..

P.S. I don't see a picture..

Hi Eliana, I see you found CrampyGut's picture on his other post! IBS Network have not taken that one down yet!

in reply toMaureen1958

I only posted the one pic and it was with this post. So I’m not sure what you are talking about.

If you go into your profile page you will see you did two posts yesterday, both almost identical. Perhaps you thought you had deleted the first one and that's why you did a second!?

in reply toMaureen1958

Just discovered second post. Not sure how that happened. Was not intentional.

And admin can delete it and my entire profile.

Do I take it from your last comment about deleting your entire profile that you are not very impressed with site?

Don't be put off, we are quite a nice bunch really, it's just that the IBS Network don't like poo pictures.

When some one posts a Pic, i receive many complaints from members of this forum about the content of the post, please see the guidelines, as no one is medically trained there is no need for anyone other than a medical professional to see this.

Yes, I get all that but as xjrs said people don't seem to know when they join up that they can't do it. I certainly don't remember seeing anything about it when I joined. Could you not post something prominently on the top of the page saying "No poo pictures allowed" or something to that effect. Most people don't read all the rules when signing up to a site anyway. Personally I wouldn't have thought about putting such pictures on here but I have found on odd occasions when looking at other peoples and then reading peoples comments about it, it has struck a cord with me. I am not trying to be difficult, just suggesting something that might work like xjrs was.

It's okay..I don't mind pictures. I think pictures can actually help us all and know we are all going through the same thing. I don't find them offensive at all. This is an IBS forum. So..I don't see what the big deal of pictures are. But I guess rules are rules.

There are guidelines that have been posted recently within the last month and put up in the pinned posts at the very top of the page.

So when so-one is new they will see these.

Also as people have been on this forum for some time a post about them was put out so people who have been here for a while could see them aswell.

healthunlocked.com/theibsne...

Dealing with these posts as well as the many complaints we receive when someone posts a pic is very time consuming , hence the reason we had put out the guidelines and and have them as a pinned post.

Anyone who has concerns about their bowel movements should be contacting their GP for correct medical advice.

I still don't think people will necessarily see it where it is. Another suggestion would be to add something at the point when writing a post or question where it says Add Photo.

IBSNetwork, thank you for your post further above offering me to email in. I can see your explanation here though which is helpful. I can see you have your community guidelines pinned post which you have pointed out to us. I agree with Maureen1958 that something may need to be more prominent around adding photos since many people may miss the pinned post. I've only just noticed it now you have pointed it out to me. The fact that some people are still falling through the net suggests this. There had been an additional feature of putting up a warning message about not disclosing identities when links are added to a post. Maybe something like that would be useful when adding photos or in fact disable the ability to add photos for this group. I can't see any reason for that feature if such pictures are not allowed.

Not trying to be argumentative..but I don't find them offensive at all. Everyone poops. It's not a big deal in my opinion. Just go in any public bathroom..many people uh..forget to flush. But I understand rules are rules. Thanks for your time.

I don't mind the odd poop picture. I suppose I'm a bit curious sometimes as to what people think is a problem. When starting out with IBS 4 years ago, I could of done with a comparison to things I was and still am passing or experiencing. Granted I haven't been brave enough to stick one of mine on but I have shown some of them to my GP. Some pics are similar but I've not seen many really bloody ones... is that too much..... yes it's too much..... sorry folks. I end up looking on the crohns and colitis forum as that has no issues about poop pictures. Besides...... poop in one form or another dictates our lives and some are genuinely frightened by what they see and perhaps scared or embarrassed to show it to a doctor. I mean we don't see peoples faces behind each post... all of us are different. I agree with Maureen1958, perhaps something should be added to perhaps hide a photo, maybe you could have the option of viewing if you wanted to.... a bit like Facebook does with some of the photos on there
