Hey folks. I'm a 35 year old male. I had laproscopic surgery in 2010 to repair 2 inguinal hernias. My bowel strangulated through one of the hernias and had to have a section of it removed. As a result of the surgery, I suffer with IBS. Lately I have started walking to work. It's a 40 minute walk from home. I drive a hgv vehicle all day. And then I walk home at night. Been doing this for 3 months now. I've started getting pain in my right hip and both legs leading down to my feet. I also have a very sensitive groin area to touch starting at the base of the penis which moves up along the pubic area and on the bottom of my stomach. It's a papercut kind of pain. It hurts to have intercourse aswell. Just before climax. It's like someone is running a knife across my insides. This used to happen two or three times a year and last a couple of days. This is the first time I've had it in nearly 2 years again and it's not showing signs of going anywhere. I've had it over a week now. Will get myself checked out ASAP.

Oh heavens! Don't know what to say to you as I only have knowledge of a hiatus hernia, don't presume it's IBS before speaking to your GP and I presume you have constipation? Let's us know how you get on🤞

Had some constipation reliefs today. Pains are now moving around the intestine. Pain in penis and pubic area is also moving with the bowel movements. GP advises that the bloating in the small intestine is pressing against the mesh holding hernias in place. Option of having nerve freezing treatment in the pained areas. Advised to look into FODMAPS aswell.

If your GP has advised FODMAP look on the IBS network Web site. Wish you better days
