I am unfamiliar with the acronym MAB. I take Colestyramine for Bile Acid Diarrhoea (BAD) or it is also known as Bile Acid Malabsorption (BAM). If this is what you have been prescribed the medication for it should tell you on the box how to take it. I only need one sachet per day and I take it before I go to bed mixed in half a glass of water. It is not unpleasant once you get used to the texture. Very sweet as it contains artificial sweeteners.

You have to be careful to take any other medication at least one hour before the powders or four hours after as it can interfere with the absorption of other drugs you may be taking.

I hope it makes you much better, it has been like a miracle for me.

Hi whitesugar thanks for your reply you have given me a bit of hope. My doctors have been no help and I have diagnosed my self. I insisted on this medication after talking via health unlocked and reading many reports. I was on Low FODMAP diet for two years but it stopped working. Thus the new medication. Who needs doctors when MAB & IBS is concerned! Again many thanks

Diagnosing yourself is never really a good idea. Personally if you think you have BAM you need a SeCaT scan to check this.

I have been visiting my doctor for 7 years now and they have suggested nothing. What has one to do in this situation. I repeat nothing.
