I’ve just been discharged from hospital after having a couple bouts of quite a bit of fresh blood and diarrhoea. This has been going on for two years with blood appearing on and off. I had a colonoscopy done in October which was clear on everything including ibd and cancer. I’ve had pain in my lower left and I’m just wondering if this sounds like IBD to anyone is it possible for a colonoscopy to miss such a thing? I have a Sig scope booked in two weeks and had a CT scan cancelled as my heart rate went down and the diarrhoea stoped. The blood is still there however. Any tips or advice on how to control the bleeding or reassurance is really really appreciated.
Thank you all

Hey there have you ever been tested for diverticular disease ? My pain originates on left hand side was diagnosed on CT scan when I was I'm and out hospital for over a year with blood in stool , severe pain etc
In my opinion a colonoscopy would have picked up IBD as long as the bowel was empty and clear it should also have picked up diverticular disease but I only say this because the Gastro talked me through my colonoscopy and I saw it on the monitor. She said I had a small polyp which was removed and I saw the pockets which were diverticular. I cannot explain what you have but I would continue to get an answer. Good Luck
