Fybogel : My consultant has advised me to take... - IBS Network
Fybogel
I had such chronic constipation that it did not really do much for me. I hope it helps you.
I take 2 sachets a day plus as much fruit and veg as I can and lots of fluids. Definitely helps, good luck.
It's useless for chronic constipation, the only thing it did for me was to make my bloating worse.
Rubbish causes other problems
I take a sachet every other day. I tried various doses that didn't work but this amount seems to work for me. Some bloating from it at times but overall it's been good for me. I make sure I drink lots of water throughout the day after having it.
Fybogel Mebeverine works fairly well. Dissolves well in water - could take the sachets to work and was quite a nice gentle approach to encouraging movement even though I avoid using it when I'm really badly constipated as it just wasn't strong enough for me.
You've got to basically drink it almost daily to get the desired regular effect.
Doesn't taste too bad but got pretty fed up with the orangey taste after a while and decided to try Dulcoease , Dulcolax and Senokot as they all come in tablet form so I'd take one at night and know I'd get results the next day - without fail.
Recently I've had a number of issues with my digestion so I'm on Ortis Fruits & Fibres, half a cube or a cube daily or a Senokot tablet. For the cramps and gas, I'm back on the Licorice Root chewy tablets.
All the best going forward.
Didn't help me at all when I used to have constipation. I started having a dessertspoon of golden Linseeds soaked in approx. half a mug of water. Leave to soak for sound an hour then drink. You will also need to drink some water straight after.
Best of luck.😀
