I am new to the community, just wanted to check out what HealthUnlocked was like. I heard good things!
My Dietitian has steered me back to the fodmap diet.
I have a bit of trepidation with that step, I tried it before and it was really no fun. However I am told this is the best chance of symptom relief for those with IBS-D, and as I have every IBS-D war story under the sun I had thought I had better give it a proper go.
Any top tips out there from those making a success out of fodmap?

Not following fodmap diet, but something which you can try, in addition, is reduce the amount of alcohol you drink and, also, remove all fizzy drinks from your diet.
Hey I suffer bad IBS D, nothing helped then did the low fodmap... and oh my goodness! No D! Be super strict and follow it to a T, download monash app, it takes a couple of weeks to know your safe foods but its saved my life! I hope this is inspiration just think what's worse? Constant diarrhoea or a takeaway 🤣 you'll see improvements by days 3 but you must follow it totally, no cheats. Mine involved eating rice, potatoes, certain veg, Turkey, tuna, lettuces cucumber tomatoes, you just need to be creative until you introduce it's boring but wow it works x
Have your doctor prescribe you one of these 3 drugs: Welchol, Colestipol, and/or Questran. These are bile acid sequestrants and will stop diarrhea in its tracks. Wonder meds for this "crap!" Yes...pun intended!
